Three new proposals have been presented by researchers of the “Antarctic Ring on Plant Ecophysiology” to the XXII National contest of Antarctic Scientific Research and Technology 2016 (INACH, www.inach.cl/proyectos/fondos/) .
Dr. Patricia Sáez is the PI of the proposal submitted to the regular contest INACH, 2016. The proposal is entitled “Effect of warming on leaf hydraulic properties of Antarctic plants”.
Dr. Claudia Rabert, is a Postdoc that work with the Antarctic ring since 2013. She has submitted the proposal entitled "Study of biological and chemical belowground system associated to Antarctic vascular plants under different weathering level and latitudinal gradient in maritime Antarctic"
Paulina Pradel, one of our doctoral student has submitted a proposal to the Thesis Support Program of INACH 2016, entitled “Effect of warming on rhizospheric microorganism from antarctic vascular plants and its relationship with plant ecophysiological performance on Deschampsia antarctica and Colobanthus quitensis”
These new initiatives look for funding to give continuation to the objectives traced by the Antarctic Ring several years ago. We as a group, wish the best luck to Patricia, Claudia and Paulina in this initiative.
