The event was held in Rosario, Argentina between September 24 and 27, and its objective was to make visible the research of international scientists who study different aspects of Plant Physiology, exposing the latest advances, discussing ideas, hypotheses and experiments. It was aimed at international researchers, students, and technical specialists in the different areas of Plant Physiology, ranging from molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, genomics, and ecophysiology, so that they could interact in the presentation, and discussion of their results.

Karla Villena, PhD student in Agri-Food and Environmental Sciences, presented part of the results of her doctoral thesis, advised by Dr. León Bravo. Her work entitled “Physiological responses of two species of the genus Colobanthus to water stress”, shows that C. quitensis, Antarctic ecotype, turned out to be the one with the best physiological performance against the challenge of severe water stress. We congratulate Karla for her work and her valuable participation in this event!
